Program Purpose: The Certificate of Achievement in Agriculture Pest Control Adviser Preparation prepares students for careers within the agricultural industry. Through hands-on experiential learning and a curriculum designed to engage students in all aspects of agricultural production, plant science and pest control, students will be prepared to enter the agriculture job market, with high demand for those with education and skills in agricultural pest identification, management and control. Students skilled in agricultural pest control advising bring strengths from the integration of agriculture, plant science, and technology.
Program Description: The certificate of achievement in Pest Control Adviser Preparation combines core concepts of plant science with the additional skills and knowledge necessary to meet the needs and challenges of California's growing agronomic and horticulture industries. Production practices, crop protection, management, and technology skills will allow students to be prepared for jobs in pest control advising, agronomy, crop protection, pest management, harvest management, soil science, and horticulture, as well as general agriculture production.
